Description
All our So Organic birds are reared to organic standards. They eat naturally organic feed and have lots of pasture to graze in. The birds come from a traditional bronze breed that are very slow-growing, giving a richer flavour.

Cooking instructions
Oven cook from chilled only. If freezing at home, defrost thoroughly before cooking.
Before cooking: Refer to the weight label on the front of the bag for the specific roasting time. Preheat oven. Remove all packaging and the neck and the giblet pack from the neck flap or main body cavity. Place the turkey in a roasting tin. For best results pour 200ml of cold water into the roasting tin around the turkey. Loosely cover the turkey with foil and place in the centre of the preheated oven.
During cooking: Periodically spoon the juices in the bottom of the roasting tin over the bird to baste and return to the oven. Remove the foil 1 hour before the end of cooking.
After cooking: Once cooked, remove the turkey from the oven, check product is piping hot and no pink colour remains. Cover with foil and leave to rest for 30-45 minutes before carving. All cooking appliances vary. This is a guide only.

Freeze as soon as possible after purchase and always within the use by date. Once frozen use within one month Defrost thoroughly for a minimum of 40 hours in a refrigerator and once defrosted cook within 24 hours. Ensure the bird is completely defrosted by checking there are no ice crystals in the body cavity and the legs are flexible. Do not refreeze once defrosted.
