This slow-growing free-range bronze turkey has been produced for the ultimate Christmas centre piece. The traditional process of game hanging and dry plucking ensures crisp, golden skin and tender and succulent meat.

Cooking instructions

Oven cook from chilled only.
Time: 20 mins per kg plus 35 mins
Temp: 170 conventional, 140 Fan or 3 gas mark

If freezing at home, defrost thoroughly in a refrigerator before cooking.

Before cooking: Remove turkey from fridge 1 hour prior to cooking. Refer to the weight label on the front of box for the specific roasting time. Preheat oven. Remove all packaging and remove the giblets from the cavity. Place turkey upside down in a deep baking tray and season with salt and pepper. For best results pour 500ml of cold water into the oven proof roasting tin around the turkey. Place turkey into the centre of the preheated oven.

During cooking: Cook for 45 minutes and then remove the turkey from the oven. Turn the turkey over and season with salt and pepper. Cook for the remaining time.

After cooking: Once cooked, remove the turkey from the oven. Check product is piping hot and no pink colour remains. Leave to rest for 30-45 minutes before carving. All cooking appliances vary. This is a guide only.


  • These bronze turkeys are plucked by hand, so some dark feather stubs will remain, this will not affect the eating quality of the turkey.
    Safety: Do not wash raw turkey.
    Keep raw poultry separate from cooked foods.
    Use separate kitchen utensils and surfaces for raw poultry and cooked foods or wash them thoroughly in between use.
    Wash hands after handling raw poultry.
    Do not stuff the bird - the stuffing must be cooked separately.
    Always ensure the product is piping hot throughout and the juices run clear when a skewer is inserted into the deepest part of the thigh.


Keep refrigerated. Once opened cook within 24 hours and do not exceed the use by date.
Suitable for home freezing. Freeze as soon as possible after purchase and always within the use by date. Once frozen consume within 1 month.
Defrost thoroughly for a minimum of 60 hours in a refrigerator and once defrosted cook within 24 hours.
Ensure the bird is completely defrosted by checking there are no ice crystals in the body cavity and the legs are flexible.
Do not refreeze once defrosted.
