Our free range bronze turkeys are a traditional slower growing breed, specially selected for their full flavour and succulent texture. The traditional bronze turkey breed has dark feathers which when plucked may leave small coloured marks on the skin. This is natural and will not affect the quality and will reduce in appearance upon cooking. The plump turkey crown comes from one of our free range flocks. Crowns are quicker to cook and easier to carve at the table, giving you tender, juicier breast meat to enjoy.

Cooking instructions

Oven cook from chilled only.

If freezing at home, defrost thoroughly in a refrigerator before cooking.

Time 20 mins per kg + 50 mins 170°C / Fan 140°C / Gas 3

Before Cooking: Refer to the weight label on the front of the pack for the specific roasting time. Preheat oven and remove all packaging. Place the turkey crown in an ovenproof roasting tin.
For best results pour 200ml of cold water into the ovenproof roasting tin around the turkey crown. Place the turkey crown in the centre of the oven.

During Cooking: Periodically spoon the juices in the bottom of the ovenproof roasting tin over the turkey crown to baste and return to the oven.

After cooking: Once cooked, remove the turkey crown from the oven. Check food is piping hot and no pink colour remains. Cover with foil and rest upside down for 30 minutes before carving.
