Description

Our free range bronze turkeys are a traditional slower growing breed, specially selected for their full flavour and succulent texture. The traditional bronze turkey breed has dark feathers which when plucked may leave small coloured marks on the skin. This is natural and will not affect the quality and will reduce in appearance upon cooking. The plump turkey crown comes from one of our free range flocks. Crowns are quicker to cook and easier to carve at the table, giving you tender, juicier breast meat to enjoy... that's why you can taste the difference

Cooking instructions

Oven cook from chilled. 180°C / Fan 160°C / Gas 5. 40 mins per kg + 60 mins.
Refer to weight label on the front of the pack for the specific roasting time. If freezing at home, defrost thoroughly in a refrigerator before cooking.

Before cooking: Preheat oven. Remove bag leaving the turkey crown in the provided tray and cover loosely with foil. Place on a roasting tray on the middle shelf of the oven.
During cooking: Baste regularly during cooking. 30 minutes before the end of cooking remove foil and baste crown with juices.
After cooking: Once cooked, remove from the oven. Always ensure the product is piping hot throughout, the juices run clear when a skewer is inserted and no pink colour remains in the deepest part of the flesh. Leave to rest for 30 minutes prior to carving.

  • Don't wash raw turkey.
    Keep raw poultry separate from cooked foods.
    Use separate kitchen utensils and surfaces for raw poultry and cooked foods or wash them thoroughly between use.
    Wash hands after handling raw poultry and the sauce sachet.
    Always ensure product is piping hot throughout and the juices run clear when a skewer is inserted into the deepest part of the flesh.
    When cooked some pinking may remain on the surface of the turkey due to being in contact with the bacon. This is a natural occurrence and completely safe. Cook according to the pack instructions

Storage

For use by date: see front of pack.
Keep Refrigerated
Store uncooked meat covered and lower in the refrigerator than cooked meat. Once opened cook within 24 hours and do not exceed the use by date.
Suitable for freezing Freeze as soon as possible after purchase and always within the use by date. Once frozen use within 1 month. Do not refreeze once defrosted

Defrost information:
Leave the turkey in the bag. Defrost thoroughly in a refrigerator in a deep dish or tray for 24 hours before cooking, use within 24 hours.
