Cooking instructions

To oven cook from chilled. 200°C/Fan 200°C/Gas 7. 20 mins then 140°C/Fan 140°C/Gas 6 for 7 minutes per 500g for rare, 10 minutes per 500g for medium and 16 minutes per 500g for well done.
If freezing at home, defrost thoroughly before cooking.

Before cooking: Remove all packaging. Allow joint to rest at room temperature for 30 minutes. Rub with 5ml of oil and season with a pinch of salt and pepper. Preheat oven
During cooking: Place the beef in the centre of the oven and cook for 20 minutes. Reduce the oven temperature 140°C/Fan 140°C/Gas 6 and cook for 7 minutes per 500g for rare, 10 minutes per 500g for medium and 16 minutes per 500g for well done.
After cooking: Remove the beef and allow to rest for 30 minutes. This product should be cooked until it is piping hot throughout.
If cooking rare, check the surface is fully seared/browned. All cooking appliances vary. This is a guide only.

  • Keep raw meat separate from cooked foods.
    Use separate kitchen utensils and surfaces for raw meat and cooked foods or wash them thoroughly between use.
    Wash hands after handling raw meat. Raw meat may contain organisms hazardous to health.
    If cooking rare, do not pierce the meat before cooking and ensure the surface is fully seared/browned.

Storage

For use by date: see side of pack. Keep refrigerated. Once opened, use within 24 hours and do not exceed the use by date.

For best quality, freeze as soon as possible after purchase and always within the use by date.
Once frozen consume within 3 months. Defrost thoroughly and use within 24 hours. Do not refreeze once defrosted.
