Our free range bronze turkeys are a traditional slower growing breed, specially selected for their full flavour and succulent texture. The traditional bronze turkey breed has dark feathers, which when plucked may leave small coloured marks on the skin. This is natural and will not affect the quality and will reduce in appearance upon cooking

Cooking instructions

Oven cook from chilled only.
170°C / Fan 140°C / Gas 3. 20 minutes per kg + 50 mins.
If freezing at home, defrost thoroughly in a refrigerator before cooking.

Before cooking: Refer to the weight label on the front of the pack for the specific roasting time. Preheat oven, remove bag and sleeve. Place the turkey crown in the foil container into a roasting tin. Measure out 200ml of cold water and pour into the foil around the crown. Cover the crown with foil and place in the centre of the oven.

During cooking: Remove the foil 30 minutes before the end of cooking, baste and return to the oven to allow the skin to become golden brown.

After cooking: Once cooked, remove the crown from the oven, check food is piping hot and no pink colour remains. Cover with foil and allow to rest for 30 minutes before carving.

All cooking appliances vary. This is a guide only.
