Cooking instructions

180°C / Fan 160°C / Gas 4.
40 mins per kg + 30 mins.
Oven cook from chilled only. If freezing at home, defrost thoroughly in a refrigerator before cooking.

Before cooking: Refer to weight label on the front of the pack for the specific roasting time. Preheat oven. Remove sleeve and leave turkey crown in the oven-proof bag and tray. Place on a roasting tray on the middle shelf of the oven. Make sure the bag does not touch the oven walls, shelves or heating element.

After cooking: Once cooked, remove from the oven, place on a flat heatproof surface and open the bag carefully by slitting down the front of the bag with scissors. Take care when opening the bag as steam will be released. Always ensure the product is piping hot throughout, the juices run clear when a skewer is inserted and no pink colour remains in the deepest part of the flesh. Leave to rest for 20 minutes prior to carving.

All cooking appliances vary. This is a guide only. Handle with care: the bag may open during cooking and may cause cooking juices to seep from the foil tray into the roasting tray.

Warnings

  • Don't wash raw turkey.
    Keep raw poultry separate from cooked foods.
    Use separate kitchen utensils and surfaces for raw poultry and cooked foods or wash them thoroughly between use.
    Wash hands after handling raw poultry.
    Always ensure product is piping hot throughout and the juices run clear when a skewer is inserted into the deepest part of the flesh.
    When cooked some pinking may remain on the surface of the turkey due to being in contact with the bacon. This is a natural occurrence and completely safe.
    Take extreme care when opening the oven proof bag as steam will escape and the bag will be full of hot juices.

Storage

For use by date: see front of pack
Keep refrigerated
Once opened cook within 24 hours and do not exceed the use by date.
Freeze as soon as possible after purchase and always within the use by date.
Once frozen consume within 1 month.
Defrost thoroughly for a minimum of 25 hours in a refrigerator and once defrosted cook within 24 hours.
Do not refreeze once defrosted
