Oven cook from chilled
200°C / Fan 180°C / Gas 7
40 mins
Oven cook from chilled. If freezing at home, defrost thoroughly before cooking. Before cooking: Preheat oven. Remove all packaging and set aside butter and glaze sachet. Leave beef at room temperature for 20 minutes.
During cooking: Lightly oil the beef, place into dry frying pan and sear on all sides. Place seared beef into a roasting tin and place on the middle shelf of the oven and cook for 40 mins. Add the butter to the joint for the final minute of cooking.
After Cooking: Remove from oven, cover joint in foil and leave to rest for 15 minutes. Whilst the beef is resting, pour the mirin glaze in a small saucepan and gently heat over a moderate heat. Place the rested joint onto a chopping board and thinly slice. Serve beef on a warm plate with the mirin glaze poured over.
Check food is piping hot. All cooking appliances vary. This is a guide only.
